Bandusia Retreat offers a rare opportunity.
Bandusia
is a luxury, lodge-style property that is currently being run as an
upmarket guesthouse by its owners Drew and Kerrie Mitchell. The Mitchells want
to property share Bandusia, creating a co-operative of shareholders who will
own the property in a unit trust.
Equestrian facilities
The property is set
on 48 acres and features five horse paddocks with day shelters.
The property includes
400m of river frontage to the
MacDonaldRiver.
Six quality riding horses, suitable for all
standards of rider, will be available for shareholders use and saddles, tack
and all other horse requirements will form part of the resort’s facilities.
Other horses can be agisted on adjoining
land by arrangement. A round yard and sand arena will be constructed on the
formation of the trust.
The
MacDonaldValley
is a popular spot for horse riding with the St Albans Endurance Ride (which passes
through the historic St Albans Common)
a regular event. The MacDonald Valley Pony Club meets on a monthly basis just
400m up the road from Bandusia.

Shareholders usage
Shareholders will have access to at least
one weekend a month (two weekends in some months) on a rostered rotational
basis.
Midweek usage will also be
allocated, including school holidays, on a rotational basis. (The initial
school holiday allocation will be drawn by ballot.)
Accommodation
Accommodation comprises five two-bedroom
family suites with bathrooms and small kitchens, plus a luxury spa room with
ensuite, 2-person spa bath and kitchen facility (suitable for a couple only).
The property is fully found with A-grade
hotel furnishings, linen, crockery, cutlery, pool towels, dressing gowns, A/V
equipment, grounds maintenance and outdoor furnishings.
Day lounge
Shareholders are welcome to visit Bandusia
at any time on a day basis with a spacious day lounge
available for your convenience.
Other common facilities include a snooker
room, lounge room, sun room and deck area with tables for alfresco dining.
Nearby facilities
The property is a few minutes’ drive from
St Albans, one of
Australia’s
earliest settlements and the site of the historic 1834 pub, the Settlers Arms
Inn.
There are two restaurants in the
village that come highly recommended. The property is surrounded on the east
side by the sandstone ridges of the
YengoNational Park. The rear
of the property features abundant native trees, hiking trails and towering
sandstone ridges.
The property is located within a rural
preservation area that does not allow any subdivision – ensuring the
continuation of a unique bushland and farm environment.
